Roles and Qualifications

Teachers are expected to be punctual, professional, and maintain a positive attitude. It is up to the teacher to be responsible and meet the standards and rules set forth by the employer as stated in their contract.

Academic Roles

Teachers are expected to teach 3 to 4, one and half hour long classes per day, Monday through Saturday. Teachers will be required to teach and prepare lesson plans for a preparation study program for non-native speakers (both IELTS/TOEFL and General English). Each class will have a maximum of 6-8 students.

Non Academic Roles

The minimum requirements for the teaching position:

  • Applicants must be a native English speaker

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in any field, Education majors preferred

  • Nationalities: American, Australian, British, Canadian, Irish, New Zealander, or South African citizens only

  • A teaching certificate or ESL certification

  • In good health

  • No criminal record

  • Able to commit to a 6-8 month contract

  • Be culturally well-rounded

  • Have at least two years of ESL teaching experience with adult learners.

  • Have lived and taught abroad for at least one year

  • Trained or has a desire to be trained in IELTS

  • Be at least 25 years or older

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis; however, the position will start in September. Contract lengths can vary from six to eight months, depending on arrival date.
